Michael Pocalyko
Michael Pocalyko founded Monticello Capital in 1997 and is the firm’s managing director and chief executive officer. He is the managing partner of Special Investigations, the first investigative firm ever to be formed out of the securities and financial services sector. He is an entrepreneur, an international economist, and an experienced executive leader of high-performance teams—he has been chairman and CEO of five corporations and four times a non-executive chairman of the board. He is also a public company "audit committee financial expert" under Section 407 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act; an investigator, compliance agent, and certified fraud examiner (CFE); and he advises clients worldwide on investigations, financial structures, mergers and acquisitions, and capital investments.

Monticello Capital is saddened by the loss of George Shafran, who was a senior advisor to Monticello Capital from 2004 until his death of natural causes in McLean, Virginia on June 7, 2017 at the age of 91. George Shafran was involved in corporate development, technology innovations, and capital finance for more than fifty years. His level of expertise was unmatched in complex financial relationships, real estate finance, commercial banking, and the connection of growth-phase technology corporations to the federal sector. A former member of the Virginia House of Delegates, he maintained a significant base of representational business in the US, Canada, and internationally.
